Registry & Certification Terms

Terms governing participation in the AIMI Registry and adherence to AIMSO AI-assisted music certification standards.

Founding Beta — Effective June 2026

AIMI and AIMSO are in Founding Beta. These terms establish the voluntary framework for registry participation and certification standards. They do not constitute legal advice, copyright clearance, licensing approval, or any guarantee of ownership or rights. All participants remain solely responsible for their own legal compliance, rights, permissions, and disclosures.

1. Registry Participation

1.1.

The AIMI Registry is a voluntary identification and transparency framework. Receiving a registry ID (e.g., AIMI-SONG-000001) does not confer legal rights, copyright ownership, or any regulatory authority over a work.

1.2.

Participation is open to creators, labels, artists, voice rights holders, prompt authors, and AI model operators whose work qualifies as AI-involved music under the AIMSO H1–H5 classification framework.

1.3.

H0 (Human Created) works are accepted as reference records only and are not eligible for AIMI chart consideration, AIMSO certifications, or AI-involvement badges unless qualifying AI involvement is separately disclosed and verified.

1.4.

Submitters must provide accurate, complete, and truthful information at the time of registration. Knowingly submitting false, misleading, or fabricated information is grounds for immediate removal from the registry and permanent ineligibility.

1.5.

AIMI reserves the right to suspend, revoke, or modify any registry ID at its sole discretion, including in cases of inaccuracy, rights disputes, or standards non-compliance. Notice will be provided where reasonably possible.

2. AI Involvement Disclosure Requirements

2.1.

All chart submissions, certification applications, and registry entries must include a truthful, specific disclosure of AI involvement. This includes identifying the AI tool(s) used, the nature of their contribution, and the applicable H-classification (H1–H5).

2.2.

Qualifying AI involvement must be present in the music or audio creation itself. AI usage limited solely to marketing, visual artwork, social media campaigns, or promotional materials does not qualify a work for AI-chart eligibility or AIMSO certification.

2.3.

Submitters must accurately select an H-classification that reflects the actual ratio of AI to human contribution. Misrepresentation of classification — either overstating or understating AI involvement — is a violation of these terms.

2.4.

If a work's AI involvement changes materially after submission (e.g., re-recording, remix, or re-production), the submitter is responsible for updating their registry record or submitting a new entry.

3. AIMSO Certification Standards

3.1.

AIMSO certifications (e.g., Gold, Silver, Bronze, Restricted, Ineligible tiers) are voluntary industry transparency designations. They do not represent government-issued licenses, copyright registrations, or legal authorizations of any kind.

3.2.

Certification is based on AIMSO's internal evaluation criteria, including H-classification, AI involvement disclosure, data quality, platform performance metrics, and community trust signals. Criteria may be updated as the platform develops.

3.3.

Certified status may be revoked if new information is discovered that conflicts with original submission data, if rights disputes arise, or if the work is found to be in violation of these terms.

3.4.

Displaying AIMSO certification badges, registry IDs, or verification marks in any commercial or public context constitutes acceptance of these terms and AIMI's Submission Terms.

3.5.

AIMSO ratings and scores are informational and editorial in nature. They do not represent financial valuations, rights assessments, or legal conclusions about any work.

4. Rights, Ownership & Compliance

4.1.

Registration with AIMI does not transfer, assign, or affect ownership of any intellectual property rights. Creators retain all rights they hold independently of AIMI/AIMSO.

4.2.

Submitters are solely responsible for ensuring they have the legal right to submit, distribute, and publicly associate the submitted work with AI tools or platforms listed in the registry entry.

4.3.

AIMI/AIMSO does not adjudicate rights disputes between creators, labels, AI platforms, or third parties. Any disputes regarding ownership, licensing, or usage rights are the sole responsibility of the parties involved.

4.4.

Submitters must comply with the terms of service of any AI platform used (e.g., Suno, Udio, Stable Audio) and all applicable laws in their jurisdiction regarding AI-generated content, voice rights, and copyright.

4.5.

AIMI/AIMSO may report suspected rights violations to relevant platforms or authorities but assumes no obligation to do so and accepts no liability in connection with such reports.

5. Prohibited Submissions

The following are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal and permanent ineligibility:

  • Submissions that misrepresent the nature, extent, or presence of AI involvement
  • Works that infringe on third-party copyrights, trademarks, or voice rights
  • Works generated using AI tools in violation of those tools' terms of service
  • Fraudulent, duplicate, or impersonation-based registry entries
  • Submissions intended to manipulate chart rankings or certification status
  • Content that constitutes defamation, harassment, hate speech, or illegal material

6. Appeals & Dispute Resolution

6.1.

Creators or labels who believe a registry decision, certification ruling, or chart eligibility determination was made in error may submit a formal appeal through the AIMSO Appeals Center.

6.2.

Appeals must include the AIMI Registry ID, the specific decision being contested, and supporting documentation or evidence. AIMI/AIMSO will review appeals within a reasonable timeframe but makes no guarantee of reversal.

6.3.

AIMI/AIMSO decisions are final within the platform. These terms do not create any legal obligation for arbitration, mediation, or judicial review beyond what is required by applicable law.

6.4.

Questions or concerns about these terms may be directed to the AIMI team via the Contact page.

General Disclaimer

AIMI and AIMSO provide voluntary industry standards, registry frameworks, ratings, and transparency tools. Nothing in these terms or on this platform constitutes legal advice. All participants should consult qualified legal counsel regarding rights, licensing, and compliance obligations. These terms are subject to change as the platform evolves during and after the Founding Beta period.
